About

I am a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Engineering at the Vancouver campus of the University of British Columbia. Most of my time is spent working with students through research and teaching. The rest is devoted to collaborating with colleagues and engaging with the broader community, often in dedicated service roles such as editor, conference chair, program chair, and similar positions.

Research

My research explores the design and analysis of communication systems across wireless, optical fiber, power line, and underwater acoustic channels. I draw on communication and information theory, detection and estimation, signal processing, and machine learning to develop methods that address key challenges in these diverse environments.
